Steely Dan Dresses Down Wes Anderson

2006-Aug-15 by Laughcalvin

It seems to be a day of dressing downs. Steely Dan lets Wes Anderson have it and have it hard:

"This unqualified victory has inspired us to address a more serious matter. Let's put our cards on the table -  surely, we are not the first to tell you that your career is suffering from a malaise. Fortunately, inasmuch as it is a malaise distinctly different than that of Mr.______ , and to the extent that you have not become so completely alienated from the intellectual and moral wellsprings of your own creativity, we are hoping that we - yours truly, Donald and Walter - may successfully "intervene" at this point in time and be of some use to you in your latest, and, potentially, greatest, endeavor."

More funny and true stuff. (The Chicaradee)

Otherwise it might have been worth it for Anderson to steal the idea from Steely Dan.

I have a feeling his next project will be much better.

Steely Dan wins their suit and then they offer their help with Anderson's career. Haven't their careers been in a "malaise" since 1983?

True, Steely has slipped from their heyday-but what a effin heyday- arguerably 5 or 6 brilliant albums in a row?!-- Wes has shuffeled out at best 3 good movies out and worse, he is repeating himself. Tangent: that's the problem with effin hipsters and their post irony shickt (sp) "I really am a one trick pony but isn't everyone and does not matter cause I am aware of it.." puhleeze..Do something real or don't do it at all. That is unless you have to feed your family. That is of course not ironic in the strictest sense.
