Fartman: Caught in A Tight Ass
2006-Jul-18 by Laughcalvin
Howard Stern is famous (or infamous) for many reasons, one of them being his superhero Fartman. Flatulence is embarrassingly funny in nearly any situation which might explain the popular appeal of Stern's character. Joe Tyler Gold and Tammy Caplan of Goldcap Films produced the comedic short Fartman: Caught in a Tight Ass for the "Howard Stern Film Festival." Written by Gold and directed by Caplan, Fartman has to battle a new villan Tight Ass who is able to produce bizarre weapons out of his ass. It's a well-produced piece featuring professional SAG actors Kevin Fabian, Stephen Wastel, Tania Getty, Neil McGowan, Rebecca Crandall, and Joe Tyler Gold and excellent special effects by Alexander Enberg. In short, it's funny as s*** and was a potential finalist in the festival but ran into some issues involving SAG. It can be seen on In Demand's "HOWARD TV" Channel. Visit Goldcap Films Website for more info.
Director Tammy Caplan was kind enough to answer some questions by email about the project and Goldcap Films.
Tell us a bit about yourself, your partner(s),and Gold Cap Films.
Gold Cap Films consists of myself and Joe Tyler Gold. Both of us were
theater majors. I went to UCLA. While at UCLA, I took as many
screenwriting classes as I could. Joe got his degree from the
University of Michigan, where he directed a number of plays. We are
both professional actors who have worked in television, commercials,
theater and independent film. We recently produced our first feature
film, a spooky comedy in the vein of "Beetlejuice" called "Never Say
Macbeth." Joe wrote the screenplay and both of us acted in it. It's
got tons of special effects done by our effects artist, Alexander
Enberg. Alexander worked with us again for the special effects on
Fartman: Caught in a Tight Ass. Producing "Never Say Macbeth" was like
attending a crash course in filmmaking.
