The Film Forum

2006-Jun-20 by Laughcalvin

The Film Forum is the only nonprofit cinemas in New York City. And one of only a few in the country. Began in 1970 with a $2000 investment, 50 folding chairs and a 16mm projector, the Forum has since grown to 472 seats, 55 employees, and a 4.1 million a year operating budget. They present two individual film programs- Theatrical premiers of American Independents and foreign Art Films, and since 1987, repertory selections including foreign and american classics, genre works, festivals and directors. Check out their web site  here.
