Real Life Crash
2006-Jun-5 by Laughcalvin
First off, saw Crash last night - hated it. Contrived, predictable plot, simple black and white characters (literally). Seriously, I'm dismayed, yes dismayed, that this won the Oscar for best pic. You'd think the likes of an Academy voter would see through this schlock - but I guess not. The Amercan Idol culture spreads deep and wide my friends.
Speaking of Crash, I thought this article was quite ironic(and funny) that the producers of a movie about how people can't get along, can't, well, get along. Read through to the bottom and count how times the words "sue" "suing" or "lawsuit" comes up. Ahhhh, can't we all just... get along???- posted by E. Henry

2006-Jun-5 - Yari character Posted by BlogMaster
This Yari character apparently is someone who made a ton of cash in real estate and got into the movie game. Nothing wrong with that at all but I think you really have to be on the set, get in the trenches, to get a producer credit; hence no credit on Crash and now the actors are backing the lady who really was on the set and not just making phone calls or writing checks. He is obviously important to the movie getting made but so are the other producers.

what i want to know is, if they had so many problems working together on crash, why did they decide to do another film together? i guess the real answer is that they had already agreed beforehand, but, still with that much anger, wouldnt it be best to mutually null any agreements?

Nothing breeds contempable success like more success. It seems the new way to do business is suing in Americ$$$. Plus, Yari comes from a real estate background where suing is a matter of course.
