Muiltihyphenates Alex Ferrari and Jorge F. Rodriguez have produced an amazing slice of their coming feature Broken for $8,000 that looks like $300,000. It is flat-out amazing. The production design work reminded me of the first Saw meeting the first Matrix with its colors and deep texture. The story has that kind of depth and action/suspence as well. Bonnie (Samantha Jane Polay) wakes up in own bed after a gun shot and a flash of light. She is suddenly kidnapped by a sadistic stranger and his gang looking for something mysterious that Bonnie may or may not have. As things become more confusing and nightmarish, Bonnie realizes that her life may depend on her own dreams. The cast includes Paul Gordon, Amber Crawford, and Derek Evans. You can tell when someone knows what they are doing and has taken the time to do it right. In fact, the DVD is a film school for those interested in how to put together a good film with little money. Machine gun fire, thrown knives, fight scenes..it's amazing. The choreography was storyboarded and executed perfectly.
