Chuck Stephens says PULSE is "..an altogether non-site-specific sense of Japan as a dead zone, where existential isolation has attained a crtical mass that not even death can dissipate." In short, a creepiness that goes way further than RING in that the it scares and makes you profoundly sad at the same time. Brilliant.
