The Heavenly Kings

When I lived in Asia, I had a chance to see up close how Corporations manfacture boy and girl bands and sale them to the public. It could be argued it's an easy sale as it's young sex they're peddling, which speaks to darker and larger things, but write a monograph on the subject and we promise to read it. Anyway, Hong Kong heartthrob Daniel Wu has attempted to bite the hand that feeds him with his new film:
"Wu attempted to use the film to expose the ways that the voracious HK music industry uses and exploits the public and the media to create a sellable image. He shows us the equipment used in the recording of songs to edit out off-key notes. He shows management meetings where the hiring of "professional fans" is discussed. He shows that you don't need talent, only a pretty face, to sell records in HK."
All entertainment Corps do it-"Mandy Moore, Dakato Fanning(?), etc., etc." because the kids dig it and the "wink" adults do as well. BTW, can you see Clay Aiken making a movie like this? (via Greencine)
