Is Clay At It Again?
2006-Mar-2 by Laughcalvin
It seems that our Idol Clay Aiken might be up to his old tricks. New Sources are saying they will publish a story with photo of Clay trolling for hot action on Manhunt.com Our spies in our hometown sent us this:
Paulus says he found Aiken through an online meeting site, though it wasn't immediately apparent that it was Aiken. They exchanged e-mails, and Paulus says Aiken said he wanted a discreet boyfriend but, in person, it seemed he only wanted quick, rough sex and an even quicker exit with no mention of a relationship.
Days later, Paulus says, Aiken was surfing the Web site on which they met, manhunt.net, looking for another connection. He says he was furious and went to the Enquirer with the story. Paulus says he soon balked at the story's publication but, when exaggerated forms of the story broke on the Internet in late January, he decided to tell all.
By then, he says he had taken a polygraph examination given by an agency hired by the National Enquirer. He says he has logs of e-mails and Yahoo instant message conversations between the two--as well as a towel covered with Aiken's semen.
Meanwhile, Paulus continues to live in Dunn. Since the story surfaced in January, he has lost his job as an independent contractor real estate agent for Re/Max United in Fuquay-Varina. Paulus says his employers fired him because Aiken fans began harassing the company, claiming they would not continue to do business with Re/Max as long as Paulus was an employee. Kim Harris, his boss at Re/Max, would not comment other than to confirm Paulus' past employment.
Paulus, who says he's been a born-again Christian since 1991, says he was not open about his homosexuality at work or in his community and that he's now surrounded by neighbors who won't speak to him. He says Aiken fans continue to harass him, his sister and his niece, but he maintains that the thing he regrets most is the effects it may have on Aiken's fans.
"I feel even worse because his fans are hurting," he says. "When you get messages from a 13- or 14-year-old girl saying that her parents were going through a divorce and his music really helped her when she was hurting and how that has all changed because of me, that makes you feel like crap," he says.
Paulus says that he continues to speak publicly about his encounter with Aiken for fear that if he remains quiet, his version of the story wouldn't be heard.
"Most people have the impression that I am this evil person whose sole purpose is to ruin Clay's career," says Paulus, who says he received no payment for his Enquirer story or his Stern appearance but was paid for an appearance in a Michael Lucas pornographic film last month. "People say stuff like, I tricked Clay into hooking up and then I outed him, and one person says I got paid $800,000 for the story. People start believing false rumors if you let them fly."
14-year-old gals everywhere are comtemplating jumping out windows- after they burn down Paulus' house first. (Thanks Independent and DBain)

Is this what people want to know? That an Idol runner-up is gay? Who gives a damn?
I doubt this will really affect Aiken's fan base. You have to be really open-minded to appreciate the crap he's puttin out there so it stands to reason that you'd have to be open-minded about what the guy does in his bedroom.
Hell, if you really think his music is awesome, then you'd probably be too far gone to care if- say-he was doing it with Golden Retriever puppies.

The Clay bashing had died down quite a bit here in Raleigh lately. Leave it to the Independent Weekly to stir the embers and heat things up again although ,there story deals more with the rabid Aiken fans and the backlash that fell apon Paulus. I cant feel sorry for him though, he had to know the reprocutions of talking to the media about his misadventures, while still living in this area.

KYJoe,
First all, you don't know anything about pop music! Aiken is a talented singer with a beautiful voice and you are probally one of those people who think the sun rises and sets on pieces of s*** like the white stripes or something. Me and millions of others happen to like his music alot and it hurst us when s*** newspapers run rumours about him. So keep your stuck-up atitude to you and your little group of friends and me and my millions of friends will keep supporting Clay.

Perhaps I was a little strong in my critique of Clay. Honestly, the only time I'd ever heard him sing is when my g-friend duped me into watching "Idol". You see, I summarily dismiss any "Idol" contestant as being a person whose career is concocted by a corporation. Maybe that's wrong. I'm sure he has a nice voice, and seems to at least publicly be a nice person.
But does he write his own songs? Does he play any instruments? Would he have a career without Randy, Paula, and Simon? (I'll concede that noone knows the answer to the last question)
You were correct in assuming I enjoy listening to the White Stripes: two people who write all their own songs, play multpile instruments, and have cultivated a brand of music steeped in the blues, rock, and country but as fresh as any music out there today. Yeah I like them. But my sun does not rise and fall with them. Otherwise I might be calling someone else an A****** if he/she posted negatively about them.

Clay seems like a nice enough kid, but KY Joe has a point. Clay is only a singer, not a musician or song writer.

Why is it that a posts about the talented singer Clay Aiken and his sexuality get more traffic than say a post about Independent filmmakers that do everything myself? Including rough sex. I don't know...sigh

Billboard magazine proclaimed Aikens "Measure of a man" cd, the best pop album of the year that should mean something. As for questioning if Clay plays any instuments or writes his own songs, there are many great actors that would be lost when it comes to putting pen to paper or giving direction to anyone but, that doesn't take away from the fact that they are at the top of there game in there own field, acting.

maybe you just need to include the words "clay aiken" at the end of all posts, generate some false traffic, but traffic none the less. Who knows, some of them might get turned on to the more meaningful subject matter, but then again, these are clay aiken fans we're talking about, so probably not...
