- Chris Hansen's fantastic The Proper Care and Feeding of an American Messiah (our review is here) just inked a deal for distribution. Way to go, Chris and team!

- As usuall, Filmmaker David Lowery has an excellent review of Tsai Ming Liang's latest film I Don't Want to Sleep Alone which he caught in Westwood as part of the Los Angeles Film Festival. We did send someone to cover that but  the last we heard from him was a garbled, vodka-fueled call from the "Red Room," a regualr occurence around here.

- Cameron Diaz to star in "The Box," a PG-13 horror film that will be directed by "Donnie Darko" helmer Richard Kelly. Kelly wrote the script based on a Richard Matheson short story. Production will begin in the fall. (Variety)

- Finally, my old college chum, one Mark Tull, has begun work on a book about his college days for an indie press. Best of luck Mark but stay clear of the Hemingway mystique! :)
