FilmBaby.com and DIY Dist.

Sujewa points us to this post from Scott Kirsner at Cinematech about another outlet for indie filmmakers who want to distribute thier projects themselves.
"I had drinks in San Francisco this evening with Jamie Chvotkin, who is the founder of FilmBaby.com, a site that helps indie filmmakers market their DVDs. (Here are the details of how the site works; basically, you send them DVDs and they take a $4 cut from every unit sold.)"
Jamie also talks about other outlets for DIY Dist. as well. Thanks Sujewa!

I just wanted to add that FilmBaby is associated with CDbaby, a company I've enjoyed doing business with for several years. CDbaby is the world's largest seller in Independent music,
Cdbaby became #1 because they have affiliate plans that work and they offer the best terms in the industry to the musicians they serve. Some of their competitors make 2-3 times what CDbaby earns per sale.
I've no doubt FilmBaby will soon become the world's largest seller of independent films.
