A Review of Soderbergh's Bubble

2006-Feb-7 by Laughcalvin

DBannon33@aol.com sends in this short review of Soderbergh's Bubble. He seems to feel like the rest of the viewers who have seen it. Maybe SS should stick to Celebrity Reunion Flicks.

Steven Soderbergh's  dvd release of "Bubble?" I must say the man must be a Genius. Simultaneously releasing the film in theaters, cable, and dvd to rake in as much cash as possible before word gets out how freaking boring this movie is. I thought the bar scene was the only quality scene in the whole thing. I can't believe  some critics were so impressed with this movie. I could see the raw acting talent of the leads, but I felt the direction was horrible. The first 30 min. of the film felt like Soderbergh had just finished a correspondence coarse on cinematography the week before and picked up a camera and started shooting that weekend. I just don't get the hype. We did just about as good in 10th grade with a super8 cam.

I know you had to be laughing as you posted your comment. It's ok though, those that have seen our high school project know why I am still in N.C. slaving for the man, insted of sipping on a glass of moet at the golden globes. The direction and filming in that early work was as good or better than "bubble" though.

Well, I have not seen Bubble yet but my instincts tell me Manniquins has more 'moments' than Bubble and judging from Bubble's actors, our lead could more than hold his own.

Yea!!
