Work Ethics
2006-Nov-27 by Laughcalvin
Some have it in spades, some do not, many fall somewhere in between. The writers of HIT, members of www.laughcalvin.net, and our principles, www.policlicks.com, have strived to provide a good blog covering big-budget and no-budget film but to be honest, lots of things have often gotten in the way of good posts. There is no need for me to list day-jobs, gigs, mysterious eye ailments, hangovers, ennui, family, etc. as they have all been heard before. Many of the things we have promised we have done (actor eclipzs, comedic serials, etc.) but obviously we have not kept on schedule like we should have. No, religious leanings have not tripped us up- Protestant v. Catholic v. Pagan work ethics have absolutely nothing to do with it- No. it’s something more fundamental to the nature of effort and work:
Heart.
Hearts are mercurial things no doubt about it, but we do need it to be “in” what we are doing: producing a blog. Speaking for myself, I tend to lose it about halfway through the race sometimes, and it is the very devil to finish the job with the same energy and inspiration I started with. Please don’t start with ‘creativity is 1% inspiration and 99%..” because one, no one likes it when you’re right, and two, it’s a cliché.
I know, I know, I know.
So.
With these thoughts in mind, it might be nice to get some new blood in here at HIT headquarters. If you love film, writing about film, make or distribute films, drop us a line at hollywoodistalking@gmail.com. We would heart you and hopefully, you would heart us.

We do need an infusion of new blood. Mine gets stagnant after a while.

hey we are not the only ones who need a little help sometimes. Spread the word to folks who might be interested in writing for this blog and have them drop us a line.
Cheers.
